BC Women’s Health Foundation Mask Design
CHALLENGE
I was contacted by the BCWHF to create a design for a mask that was commemorating the 25th Anniversary of the Foundation and also inspired unity during the beginning of the 2020 pandemic. The client wanted to show diversity and support amongst women, while using a fresh new colour palette that would look good worn and appeal to any potential wearers.
SOLUTION
I created an illustration with “fantasy skin colours” to avoid the mask looking too neutral and avoiding skin colour stereotyping. All of the figures are holding hands symbolizing unity. The mask graphic then needed to be skewed in Adobe Illustrator to fit the 3D fabric pattern during the mask manufacturing process.
